Nowadays, many websites are created using WordPress, a convenient and accessible content management system (CMS) that can be expanded and modified as desired. For example, the WordPress website can fairly easily be expanded with one or more language versions.
There are roughly three ways to translate the content of your website in WordPress. We can assist you with any of these methods. Our specialised translators can also help you with the SEO (search engine optimisation) of the new language version. In an ideal situation, you have already had an SEO specialist find out what keywords are important for your website, so that our translator can take this into account.
We do the desired translation(s) directly in your content management system (CMS). We work with translators who are very skilled in this. The only thing your translator needs for that are the login codes of the particular website. You could even ask your webmaster to create a temporary login with the necessary permissions for the translator.
However, some clients do not like the idea of a translator having the login codes to their website. Two other methods are available for those clients. But even if you choose method 1, there is no need to worry. Discretion is a vital part of a translator’s job. In addition, all translators who work for us have signed a very strict confidentiality agreement.
You or your webmaster create an export file (CSV file) from the database in WordPress and deliver it to us. After the translation, this file can be placed back with a small intervention by the webmaster, causing the second language to become visible. If desired, special plugins can be downloaded that are helpful in creating such a CSV file. We do not need your login codes for this method.
You copy the texts of the website from the web browser and deliver them to us as Word documents. It is a fairly tedious method, as the texts need to be copied page by page, and after translation, you or your webmaster have to enter the texts into your CMS manually. This method also does not require us to have your login codes, and it is the quickest and most cost-effective way to translate a website.
