ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 in brief

The ISO 9001. standard is all about the highest possible quality of products, continuous improvement of processes and services. The ISO 17100 standard is the International Quality Label for translation agencies and means that translators must meet certain requirements and qualifications in order to qualify as a certified translator. For example, translators must have completed a translation course, perform regular tests, have relevant work experience and, of course, be native speakers. In addition, the translation always includes proofread; that is, the translation is first translated by a native speaker and then corrected by another native speaker. The ISO 17100 requirements therefore relate to business processes and the qualification of translators and proofreaders. It is all about top quality, transparency, and accountability.

ISO 27001 in brief

On a daily basis, our clients send us confidential information including competition- and privacy sensitive information. In today’s fast-changing world, Translation Kings takes its responsibilities seriously when it comes to data protection. We continue to do everything possible to protect our clients from cybercrime and maintaining a solid Information Security Management System (ISMS) safeguarding information security at all times.

By obtaining our ISO 27001 certification, Translation Kings is one of a handful of translation agencies that has achieved the highest attainable standard for information security. As such, we comply with the strict requirements of this standard and believe that neither we nor our clients should settle for less.

The ISO standards are issued by the international standardisation institute CEN and the European Association of Translation Agencies EUATC, and certification is carried out by an independent supervisory body.

2, 4, or 6 eyes

Our regular customers have long known that we take our work extremely seriously and offer a far-reaching translation service. To give an example: a customer who comes to us with legal translation work always receives a legally qualified translator. Next, the translation passes ‘a second pair of eyes’ and the two legal translators discuss any differences. Finally, the translation passes the ‘eye of the master’; a seasoned multilingual lawyer who has earned his spurs in international jurisprudence. He acts as sparring partner, proofreader and editor-in-chief of the legal translators. We call this the ‘eyes principle’; the translation then passes not 2, not 4, but 6 eyes. All with the aim of providing you with a perfect translation.
